CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction
Qualification Description
​
This qualification reflects the role of builders, site managers and managers of small to medium-sized building businesses who apply knowledge of structural principles, codes, standards and legal requirements to Class 1 and 10, to a maximum of two storeys and Class 2 to 9 Type C constructions, and who plan and supervise safe building and construction work, prepare and administer contracts, and who apply quality principles to building and construction projects.
Building relates to construction and Site Management is about managing the factors around construction, such as the deployment of crews with specialised skills (including builders), product compliance, deployment of contract specialised skills, weather and site location.

There are no pre-requisites for this qualification.
Course Structure
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in:

11 core units
-
8 elective units.

To achieve the occupational outcome of Builder electives must include:

All Group A elective units
-
Up to two elective units from either Group B or general electives.

One elective unit may be from any training package or accredited course as long as it ensures the integrity of the qualification’s Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) alignment and contributes to a valid, industry supported vocational outcome
To achieve the occupation outcome of Site Manager electives must include:

Up to four elective units from either Group A or general electives.

Delivery Mode
CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction is delivered as blended training as face-to-face and online.
Holiday Period
There is no training and assessment scheduled during the Public and school holiday periods.

On Completion of Course​
Students completing all assessment requirements will be awarded CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction.
​​
On Partial Completion of Course​
Students completing assessment requirements for part of CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction, will be awarded a statement of attainment indicating which modules or units of competency they have completed. Awards will not be made to students who have not met all their financial commitments to Fran capelli Academy.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course, students must successfully complete Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and pre-training interview. The student must be 18 years of age or over.
There are no formal prerequisites required to enter the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction.

Course Duration
The course duration is 36 weeks (excluding holidays).

Course Outcome
After successful completion of CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction, students can find employment as a Construction Manager, Builder.
